About US500
The S&P 500 CFD is the broadest and most liquid equity index instrument on most retail platforms, with the tightest spread of any index listed here and near-continuous pricing outside the cash session.
It is the reference asset for global risk appetite, and its correlation with high-beta currency pairs such as AUD/JPY is strong enough to be tradable in its own right.
US500 sits in the indices group on our board. A standard contract is 1 index points. A full-lot position moves through a meaningful amount of account equity in an ordinary session, so size the trade against the instrument’s daily range rather than against the margin requirement.

US500 FAQ
Where does the US500 price on this page come from?
We do not show a US500 price: there is no licensed data source for this asset class on the site yet, so the quote block says so instead of showing a number. It is for information only — use your broker's own prices before placing any trade.
What is a typical US500 spread?
Spreads are set by each broker and vary by account type and time of day: they are tightest during the London and New York sessions and widen sharply around major data releases and in the thin hours after the New York close. Compare the live spread on each broker's own platform before you trade.
How much is one point worth on US500?
On a standard contract of 1 index points, one point is worth a fixed amount of the quote currency; its value in your account currency moves with the exchange rate, so check your broker's calculator for the current figure.
When can I trade US500?
Sun 23:00 – Fri 21:15 GMT, daily break 21:15–22:00. Liquidity is not evenly distributed across those hours: expect the tightest spreads and the largest ranges when the primary session for this instrument overlaps with London or New York.
What does the overnight swap cost on US500?
Swap rates are set by each broker and change with policy rates, so we do not publish a figure. Most brokers apply a triple charge on Wednesdays to cover the weekend; positive rates are credited and negative rates are debited. Check the contract specification on your broker's platform.
