About GER40
The DAX tracks forty large German companies with heavy exposure to industrials, autos and chemicals, giving it a strong link to global trade volumes and to Chinese demand.
The index trades most actively between the Frankfurt open and the New York afternoon overlap. Euro strength is generally a headwind because so much constituent revenue is earned abroad.
