About NG/USD
Natural gas is the most volatile instrument most retail traders will encounter outside crypto. Weather forecasts drive it more than any economic release, and a revision to a ten-day temperature outlook can move the contract several percent.
Position sizing carried over from Forex is almost always far too large here. The typical daily range as a percentage of price is several times that of a major currency pair.
NG/USD sits in the commodities group on our board. A standard contract is 10,000 MMBtu, which puts the value of a single pip at $10.00. A full-lot position moves through a meaningful amount of account equity in an ordinary session, so size the trade against the instrument’s daily range rather than against the margin requirement.

PipDig does not publish a numeric NG/USD forecast
We will not invent a price target or a confidence score. What actually moves NG/USD is the gap between consensus and the released data for its driver currencies, so the honest “forecast” is the schedule of catalysts below plus our published analysis — read those and form your own view.

NG/USD FAQ
Where does the NG/USD price on this page come from?
We do not show a NG/USD price: there is no licensed data source for this asset class on the site yet, so the quote block says so instead of showing a number. It is for information only — use your broker's own prices before placing any trade.
What is a typical NG/USD spread?
Spreads are set by each broker and vary by account type and time of day: they are tightest during the London and New York sessions and widen sharply around major data releases and in the thin hours after the New York close. Compare the live spread on each broker's own platform before you trade.
How much is one pip worth on NG/USD?
On a standard contract of 10,000 MMBtu, one pip is worth $10.00, because NG/USD is quoted in US dollars. Scale that down proportionally for mini and micro lots — a 0.01 lot position moves at one hundredth of that figure.
When can I trade NG/USD?
Sun 23:00 – Fri 21:00 GMT (daily break 21:00–22:00). Liquidity is not evenly distributed across those hours: expect the tightest spreads and the largest ranges when the primary session for this instrument overlaps with London or New York.
What does the overnight swap cost on NG/USD?
Swap rates are set by each broker and change with policy rates, so we do not publish a figure. Most brokers apply a triple charge on Wednesdays to cover the weekend; positive rates are credited and negative rates are debited. Check the contract specification on your broker's platform.
